I had a very productive sewing weekend (I wanted to do more, but there are just not enough hour in the day). I've been working on a new quilt using the Patchwork Frames Pattern from my dear friend Beth @ Plum and June. When she asked me if I would like to test the pattern for her I didn't think it twice. The pattern is fantastic and immediately fell in love with it. I thought it was the perfect pattern to showcase the last bits of my beloved Alexander Henry Flea Market Friends fabric. I have been holding on to that fabric for a while using just bits here and there afraid to run out. Does that happen to you too? Do you have a favorite fabric and find it difficult to cut into it?
I'm absolutely thrilled about how this quilt is looking; I'm really looking forward to getting back to it next weekend and hopefully finish it.
Have a great week!

Martha.
Love your fabrics for this quilt Martha, I am trying to train myself to cut into my favourite fabrics, but it is an uphill battle :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable ! Love this block to feature your special treasures of fabric!

I totally get why its hard to cut into that fabric - its so cute! But your project looks great, so totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth. It was hard cutting into the last pieces of that fabric, but I think I'm going to enjoy it more sewn into the quilt.
DeleteThose fabrics are delightful, Martha, I would want to hold onto them forever :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Martha! SO beautiful. I think that Beth's pattern is a worthy use of treasured fabric! I have been pretty cavalier about cutting things I've saved lately. I keep reminding myself that fabric does me no good folded on a shelf--it's so much more permanent sewn into something I can look at and enjoy! Can't wait to see the rest of this one. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric selection Martha - can't wait to see the quilt all finished :-)
