With all the things I have to do this month I decided to add one more to my list. I decided to start a new quilt. I've been admiring Ana Maria Horner's Feather Quilt for quite some time. It is aboslutely fabulous. However, as much as I love the original design I'm not going to do a whole feather quilt. I'm just making a few blocks to use as accents for a simple patchwork quilt. The plan is to have it finished for Christmas. We have a tradition of spending Christmas Day watching movies all day and I thought it would be nice to have a new quilt to snuggle under. Maybe this will be the start of a new tradition: A new quilt for Christmas every year...
I hope you are having a lovely week!

Martha.
Martha, the new block looks really great, I love the fabrics and the design! And the tradition to make a quilt for Christmas is a nice idea, I have been thinking about it, too!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you have chosen. It's going to be gorgeous
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely feather! I bet your quilt will be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - love the colour combo!
ReplyDeleteLovely work. When I first glanced at the first photo, I thought it was the front of a skirt. It would make a pretty front panel for a skirt :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great - and a fantastic idea to use them as accents - should be much quicker!!
ReplyDeleteGreat block Martha, a new quilt every Christmas sounds like a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas tradition sounds wonderful and cozy! I am really loving the natural look that you have achieved in your feather block, it is the perfect look for that block.
ReplyDeleteYour fabric choices are stunning, and perfect for this particular pattern. (I love when fabric choices suit a pattern so perfectly!) What a good idea for a Christmas tradition, a new quilt every year. I can't wait to see the plan you have for setting these together.
