Slow Bloggers Linky Party

Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt
Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt

Hello and welcome to the July edition of the Slow Bloggers linky party. The Slow Bloggers Linky party is organized by the lovely Catherine @Knotted Cotton to celebrate our achievements during the month big or small. I'm so pleased to be hosting the link up this month and in honor of that I wanted to share with you my slow project. A few months ago I started The Framer's Wife Sampler Quilt, but after a couple of blocks I put it away and didn't work on it for a while. This weekend I decided to start again and made this three blocks. However, I have developed a love hate relationship with this quilt. I don't know if I'm ever going to finish it... I'll keep you posted about where this relationship goes, lol.

In the mean time tell us what you have been up to.

  1. Sad when that happens! Sometimes these things can be revived. Sorry I seem to have linked up twice. I got an error message each time and didn't think it worked at all, but now there's two of me, which seems altogether too much! I shall try to remove one, but if it doesn't work you'll know I've tried!

  3. It is nice I think to have a project pottering along in the background, suddenly one day you will have them all finished without really thinking about it!

  4. I love your blocks - especially one and two but they are all so pretty, crisp and fresh! Even if you never love them as a quilt in the end they will make lovely bags/cushion covers/mini quilts:-)

  5. Those Farmers Wife blocks look very pretty hanging on your washing line........sometimes a project just doesn't sing out to us, perhaps you could find another use for the blocks you've made so far and move on to something that brings you more creative satisfaction and enjoyment.

  6. Love your blocks! I'm about to start a Farmer's Wife... Have you been using the templates or just guessing the sizes and cutting the pieces?

  8. I enjoyed checking out your blog, and glad to find your link from Celtic Thistle! The fabrics you chose for Farmer's Wife are stunning together. I think every quilter needs at least one quilt in progress that will take years. Mine is Grandmothers Garden Patch (20yrs in the making!)

  9. As usual, I'm a bit late to the party and this is my first Slow Bloggers linky party.

Your blocks look lovely and are so beautifully photographed. Sometimes, I feel like the act of documenting a project is almost as satisfying as the project itself, or atleast small consolation on a slow project. I look forward to seeing how it turns out!

    1. Oh you are not late at all. I'm glad you joined in.
It was a bit of a challenge photographing these blocks... it was super windy so I had to be fighting with the wind to get a good shoot.
